One or Two piece backs?

I get asked frequently if one-piece backs are better than those made from two-piece backs. One-piece backs are not inherently better sounding than two, but often times, workshops and makers will reserve figured one-piece backs for special orders or higher grade production because it is considered more beautiful and rare. Highly flamed and exquisite looking one-piece material is more expensive for makers to purchase as well. Regardless, I love wonderful sounding examples of both!
